Yeah, That is my drum rack module. I am still working on it. It requires that you setup midi 1 as an inout in live. That's the beautiful thing about Mu... We can all make devices and create the ultimate control surface. I envision an exchange area for devices where you can pick and choose what works for you. I think there are some very exciting times ahead for the Lemur.

I'm not sure if it's a bug or a feature that isn't implemented.

When grouping multiple tracks, grouped clips are not displayed on the grouped track. For example.. I have Kick and Snare grouped into Drum Group. If I have a clip on scene 2 in Kik, the group track Drum Group shows a shaded clip in Ableton Live. On Mu, this clip can be triggered but not displayed.

I thought that maybe Live doesn't offer this information to it's API.. however, the Novation Launchad does show the existance of a grouped clip, proving that it can be transmitted.

My whole live set happens to be based on grouped scenes : )

Is this something possible in a future version of Mu?
Subject: updating ?
Posted: Thu Mar 11, 2010 9:32 pm (GMT 0)

I've been testing the mu beta since yesterday.
Yesterday, everything seemed to work fine, and I was very amazed by the template (I still am).
But today, when moving a clip to a new place, or creating a new track, the template doesn't update. I have to move the sliders for the change being updated.
No big deal, it is working fine except that.
As I told, I was very enthousiast yesterday, so maybe I am mistaking, but in my memory, the changes were updated and I didn't have to move the sliders for that.
Am I true ?
Can someone confirm (or not) to me that the template, when working normally, update all changes without any action needed by the user ?
(And of course, I did not change anything in my setup, config or anything else since yesterday).
_________________
config :

That may be the one I made... I haven't looked at the public beta yet. I did put together a quick drum rack module that i send over to Jazzmutant. If it is the one that I made then it requires running jazzdaemon and uses midi slot 1. You would setup live to use that input. The input is only used for the drumpads. The device knobs use OSC. Again... I am not sure if they created another one or used the one i provided. It was done really quick and as a proof of concept. I am still working on revising it.

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone already managed to create non-live plugins. I am trying to create a Module for an Audio Unit plugin i am using in my liveset. I think i figured out how the Max part works, as well is the jzlib part but the Mu software refuses to load the jzlib, hence how does the Mu recognizes an AU and where does it look?

I have found that it uses both the device name and the device class name. I also found this back in the modules directory structure. However the class MxDevice..... are somehow routed in the Mu.devicesFolderPath.txt file. I am confused.

Anyone who can shine a light on this?

Thanks!
KJ
Hi there !!! Very Happy

First in the Transport Menu

add an option for the retard of launch clip exemple : unrolling column with 0, 1 ,1/4 , 1/16 values and "Bar" just near of this column.

an other touch to launch the metronome.

Other idea for exemple when you have an effect in a track.

An automatic scroll bar in the effect section to navigate most easily, without supporting on + and mask the remainder Wink

it's been very nice if they adapt a configuration for the default max for live instrument like : buffer shuffler (i want i want !!) , Step Sequencer

Yes indeed that's the best way to avoid deceptions...

I tend to do the same or to save each time under an increased number Song01, Song02...So in case of probleme I have an not too old copy to load instead... but sometimes I'm lazy maybe, and just overwrite the file...

Anyway good to see that you didn't loose some work because of this...

Hi Mat,

If you want to reopen your song just move your Max AU and VST Plugin from where they 're and load your project again...Delete Mu and save ti...Then You can put the AU and VST back again in the good Folder...

I could have reload some important crashed songs this way, that I could'nt open because of a problem with some plugins...

Maybe you already new this but in case...It's always very frustrating to loose hours of work for that....

Hey thanks for this very cool! I too found the simple macro faders a little boring ... this is a great solution!

Too bad you can only run one or the other, at least for the time being. But still very cool!

MU has a drum module. Just drag a new drum rack to a track, and its controls auto-show up in MU. Although it currently is not fully working in the BETA, Im sure it will be in the full release.
_________________
[o_8]

Subject: 2 macros for MU
Posted: Thu Mar 11, 2010 3:19 pm (GMT 0)

Hi,

playing around with the new great MU, I tried to build my first own controls. I use Macros a lot on Audioeffect racks and I missed some of the physics on the 2 macro-controls that already come with the beta. So here we go:

http://www.jazzmutant.com/lemuruser_moduledetails.php?id=174

Just put the jzlib and maxpatches into the folder ->Mu...->Ressources->Modules->Audio Effects->Audio Effect Rack
(hm....maybe it also works on other paths, but I didnīt tried yet)

AudioEffectGroupDevice_ball
put the macros on 8 knobs (like APC40) and you got a multiball. you can route the variation of the ball to any macro via little switch...even to more than one.
AudioEffectRack_v1bp
set the macros as Y on a breakpointobject...again with physics, reminding a little bit on LoFis DyNAmic.

It works great on my system. Just drop me a line if that doesnīt work on others...

One thing: It seems that you can only use one template of each folder at the same time...so running 2 different macro controls at the same time is not possible.

Enjoy
Mat

Thats a really bad bug I experience: Whenever I load a song, where I have used MU and saved it with MU, Live crashes immediatly!

It says "Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error" and it drops my audiocard too. This happens every time, even with the Lemur turned off. I have to restart the computer to have my audiocard working again. I can not load any song, that I saved with MU. (well, I now save them without MU)
same here.
(win7,32bit; Max 5.1; Ableton 8.1)

While rescanning several times, MU sometimes find the Lemur.

Same problem with jazzeditor: It doesnīt show the Lemur (sometimes) but I can connect via entering its IP. It seems to be a wellknow win7/Lemur bug (not only due to MU)...

Maybe the possibility to enter the IP manually on MU would help....
Greets,
Have been trying to get Mu to work, but cant get the Mu m4l device to find the Lemur. I am running Win7 64bit, Max5.1 and Live 8.1. I have the computer hooked up to the net on the main board port and the Lemur on a card port. I had to switch ports to get the firmware updater to find the lemur, and update. Mu also finds the lemur from this (main board) port but that is all that happens. I cant get the card port to access the net but Jazz Editor works with the Lemur on this port!! It doesn't show the lemur in the connection dialogue but connects perfectly and works superbly(after inputting the IP number). Any thoughts anyone?
We have talked about this topic quite a bit over at noisepages.com. The issue with sending anything over an ethernet connection is that your traffic is constantly fighting for contention. It may not matter in some situations, but it is something to consider. I had brought up the topic of QOS and perhaps tagging the packets with a higher priority. The other thing I brought up was having a sync server that just sends out a beacon every x amount of seconds to all devices that have registered with the sync server. This can allow for different BPM's and time signatures on the various laptops relative to the sync.

Just some thoughts
That feature can easily be done. It's just a device that needs to be created when you open something that requires drum pads like the drum rack. I have been working on it for a little bit. The issue is that the way M4L works is that the midi effect goes after the clip. So, you would not be able to record the drums on the same track. The workaround is to use one of the Lemur's midi out's and bring it back into Live.

This is one of the things that I working on now. My time is getting really tight with some contractual obligations that are coming up soon. I will see if i can get it together some time soon though.

In the future release it would be nice to see a drum pad, sort of like a TriggerFinger. Would be ideal for fills and other various, "on the spot" type deals. Would be SO dope if you could put a TriggerFinger right there with your EFX, levels, etc.

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the Lemur and I'm just getting round to installing Jazzdaemon and I'm finding I'm unable to install any of the plugins as they are greyed out on the installation, I'm trying to configure it for the Dexter, I'm running Snow Leopard and logic 9, scanning for the Lemur in logic without the plugin loaded produces "unable to find new control surfaces" as expected

I would welcome anybody pointing me in the right direction
